Family Retreat March 29 - April 2 Meaningful family life does not come easy. From out of nowhere come stress and pressures that cause strain on your family's relationships. In a family affected by disability, sometimes it doesn't take much to push it over the top. When the kids are wearing on each other…when you feel like you can't remember the last time you enjoyed a peaceful time together…when you think, "I just can't make it another day"… we have a solution. Held at the accessible Wonder Valley Ranch Resort in Sanger, CA, Family Retreat provides dynamic programs that refresh and strengthen your whole family. The retreat offers a change of pace where you can have fun together in a safe and accepting environment. You'll be able to get away and enjoy God's creation…you'll meet and fellowship with others who face similar concerns…you'll build lasting memories together as a family…as well as a renewed hope in God. Rest Assured Respite Care Respite: temporary relief for families and caregivers. Rest Assured: a Joni and Friends program designed to provide respite to families affected by disability. Often families struggle emotionally and spiritually because of the effect disability can have on the family. To help support these families, we have started a program to provide temporary relief for parents of children with special needs. 2010 Rest Assured Calendar  Friday, January 22 Friday, February 19 Friday, March 19 Friday, May 14 Friday, June 11 Friday, July 16 Friday, August 20 Friday, October 15 Friday, November 19 Saturday, December 11 (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) If you have a child with a disability and would like a night off, please contact us! We would love to care for your special needs child (age 1-21) and siblings (ages 1-14). The purpose of Rest Assured is to give parents like you time to have dinner, watch a movie, grab coffee, or just... rest assured. Rest Assured Family Application Volunteers are the heart of this program, and we would love for you to get involved! Rest Assured Volunteer Application If you have never attended a Rest Assured event, mandatory orientation is required for first time volunteers.The dates below represent the Monday preceding the above respite events. - February 15             - June 7                - October 11 - March 15                 - July 12                - November 15 - May 10                   - August 16            - December 6 Orientation is from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Location: Joni and Friends Central California. Romania 2009 We just got back from our Romania Distribution! We were able to provide mobility equipment for over 400 people with disabilities! With each wheelchair we gave a Romanian Bible and shared the love of Christ. Many are now experiencing new life with mobility and Jesus!
Family Retreat - Wonder Valley 2009 For families who shoulder the daily pressures of disability, Family Retreat is a joyous combination of fully-accessible activities and accommodations, warm and wonderful friendships, empowering truth from the Word of God, hilarious adventures, and the life-changing knowledge that in our Father's arms is all the strength needed for the journey.         This year, 25 families and over 50 volunteers came together to serve, be served, and discover what “New Beginnings” the Lord had in store.
